Cala Gat

One of the gems of the Mallorcan coast. Although somewhat modified by human hands, it still maintains its rugged, primitive character.

The beach peeks out from between small cliffs and a pine forest, protected from all winds except southerlies.

With a special location making it a natural port, it was chosen by the last Mediterranean pirate to build a home. Together with Sa Torre Cega (currently the headquarters of the Bartolomé March Foundation), it looks out on this small, but tremendously beautiful beach.

The access route starts at the port of Cala Ratjada and follows a walking path to this small sandy beach, rarely seen by tourists but widely known by locals.

Its waters and depths form part of the Llevant Natural Reserve, where work is underway to preserve the Neptune Grass forests, said to give the water its transparency, all of which make this a perfect destination to dive and discover the diversity of marine flora and fauna.
